The S.P.A.C.E is a brilliantly unique, sizeable studio based in Southend-on-sea in Essex.
Our creative haven by the sea includes a daylight and blackout photography studio with a large infinity cove, a hanging gantry rig, a traditional darkroom with dedicated film scanning equipment, 4 hair + make up stations, a fully functioning, high-end kitchen, shower and changing facilities, office space and even a few chill out areas including our very own bonsai garden!
Our hope is to create a unique and welcoming S.P.A.C.E, with the goal of empowering photographers, artists, creatives and freethinkers to bring their visions to life, in an inspiring and inclusive environment.
We regularly invite other creatives to showcase their work here at The S.P.A.C.E and to share their expertise and creative vision with others, which we believe helps foster an environment of inspiration, collaboration and community.

STUDIO HIRE
Our studio boasts a large infinity cave and professional facilities with easy access for large items and equipment.
Whether you’re looking to use the space for a short test shoot, utilise it for a creative workshop or hire the entire or hire it out for the whole week, we’ve got options for all and pride ourselves on inclusivity, ensuring everyone can access The S.P.A.C.E to create, inspire and enjoy.

THE DARKROOM
Our Darkroom is equipped with top of the range tools and equipment for film development, analog and digital printing and film negative scanning.
You can leave your film with us for developing and scanning, hire the darkroom for your own use or attend one of our workshop/classes to help you get more comfortable doing it yourself next time!
